ALA AWARDS SUBMISSIONS: The publisher submitted “The Legend” for 3 ALA AWARDS (American Library Association) this month: 1) Caldecott Illustration Award 2) Newbury Childrens Book Award 3) ALA Notable Childrens Book Award. All submissions are read by committees of Librarians all over the country, and winners are announced for the 2008 year in January of 2009. You Go Douglas Fir!!

CRESTLINE LIBRARY: another "Dramatic Reading" was hosted here, where happy kids in Santa hats, etc., were assisted by mountain teen volunteers with reading "LDF" and other books, before turning them loose at the craft table.

LOMA LINDA LIBRARY was the site of a "Dramatic Reading". Enthusiastic
participants wore Santa & Reindeer hats, used JingleBell sound effects, and
created special effects snowfall as giant pages of "The Legend" were turned
by 4 & 5-year-olds. There were 3 encore performances!
